The last 3 new dolls have all had Josefina's face mold. I really like that mold, but I hope they aren't going to wear out the novelty of it by using it for every new doll from now on. I would like to see another, not Kaya's, used for the next LE doll. I don't know if there is a pattern or not, but Lindsey and Kailey were the classic mold, then Marisol with Josefina's...so I wonder if they will use it yet again for the next LE? Because the original dolls all have the "toothy grin", I assume Mattel believes the "friend" dolls should have a different face. Therefore the overuse of the Josafina sculpt...
I would like to see a whole new sculpt for the friend dolls, but that takes a lot of money and I am doubtful that Mattel considers any investment in AG to be worthwhile.

How is Josephina's face different from the other dolls? All my dolls have toothy grins except Kaya. (I have all the historical and an AGoT)
I think her face is a little fuller and rounder and the nose is a little more flattened, I think.
Josefina, Nellie, Marisol, and now Elizabeth all have the same mold.

Another thing about Elizabeth's face that's I think is cute is the way her bottom lip is shaped a little differently, it's fuller than the other girls' lips. She really is very adorable, IMHO. I can't wait to order her next month! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
If the next LE is really Asian, than they'll probably use the Asian AGT face.
It would be SO smart of them for the next LE to be Asian, what with the new store being in LA. This would make me SO happy, I've held of purchasing the Asian AGT because I like the ones with stories so much more than those without. I hope they make an all new facemold, or change it somehow, it seems so similar to the regular face mold to me. Although I would rather see an Historical Asian doll, I would be very happy with at least an LE. Right now, there's one doll out of the 35ish that represents the entire Asian community, not very fair [img]frown.gif[/img]
How do you think they could show her culture in an LE doll? They didnt do a very good job with that with Marisol, and I'd like to see some Asian inspired outfits, or something. At least with an LE, they could have her be of Chinese AND Japanese (or anything else) descent. Her mom could be Chinese, and her dad Japanese (or any other Asian culture), thus getting 2 of the many Asian cultures into her story, instead of just one.
And I TOTALLY agree about Josefina's (and it will ALWAYS be "Josefina's") face mold. It was soo cute and original when just she had it. And it's still cute, but I remember when Josefina first came out it was so much more interesting because she had a totally different face! I hope they don't use it for all the Friend Dolls as an alternative to have them not look like their friend.

I would really love to see them create a new mold too. Im disappoined that Elizabeth did not a get a new one. Ive been browsing doll wigs lately and I found this one that I really liked. I also noticed though, what a great face she has. And this is coming from a person whose only interest in collectible dolls has been AG. (quite honestly, I find a lot of the dolls people collect to be kinda scary in a Chuckie sort of way LOL) Not only would this wig be great in dark brown for those who an original looking Elizabeth, but the face mold would have been a great one for AG to do. Its very similar to the traditional one, just with the mouth closed. I like it anyway. Maybe Ruthie will have a new one, and with her brown eyes I can give HER this wig [img]wink.gif[/img]
